Working Bugatti Veyron Built with 10,000 Empty Cigarette Packs

Jun 23, 2010 10:25 PM

Cobbled together from thousands of empty cigarette packs, this electric-powered vehicle puts the "car" in carcinogen.

Looking suspiciously like something the China National Tobacco Corporation would commission as part of an advertising campaign, the Bugatti Veyron-style auto is actually meant to discourage smoking. The English-language version of the People's Daily offers the following explanation:

"To make a dramatic statement for this year's World No Tobacco Day [...], 22-year-old Xi'an sophomore Sun Yonggan and his four roommates made an anti-smoking sports car from discarded cigarette cases. Surprisingly, the eco-friendly car is the same size as a real car and weights 300 kilograms [660 pounds]. What's more, it actually runs."

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
